Alpharetta opens with Lassiter in the first round.

Alpharetta’s football development has taken big steps this season with its most wins in a single season and is first region championship.

Next week, in their second straight postseason berth, the Raiders (9-1) can win their first playoff game with a win over Lassiter in the first round of the Class AAAAA playoffs.

Alpharetta, which beat North Forsyth 42-7 Friday in the final regular-season game, is the No. 1 seed from Region 6-AAAAA. Lassiter is the No. 4 seed from Region 5-AAAAA.

Milton (4-6), which edged Roswell 14-13 Friday, is at Walton in the first round. Milton is the No. 4 seed from 6-AAAAA; Walton won the 5-AAAAA title.
